I love this app, as it helps me work out time management, and how to cost future work.

However, I synced my iPhone last night and had an error message.  I cannot understand what went wrong, but all of the applications on my iPhone were reinstalled as new, with all data that I have created missing.

Can anyone help how I can reinstall this data, as I am extremely concerned this could be lost so easily.  It also raises the question about how data is backed up, as my confidence in iPhone apps has reduced dramatically.  Thanks in advance to any positive responders. Undecided

It is possible to restore your phone to a previous backup if you have the backup file.  Whenever you plug your iphone into your computer iTunes backs it up.  Some of these backups may be saved ( in the Mac and PC the directory path to which they are saved is different, do some google searches but i recall Users/username/Library/iTunes/Mobile Backups ).  You can restore from a specific file if you have it by some key combination ( I believe ctrl or option click on restore in itunes lets you pick the file - but again, different for PC and Mac - do a google search ).

If you are lucky you have a backup from a previous sync, you could restore to that file, get your data back.

jrmyphelps,

You can check if you have a backup by going to iTunes->Preferences->Devices. If a backup is listed there:

Connect the device to iTunes
Right-click the device and choose "Restore from backup". Choose your latest backup.  The data will be restored (all your data, not just Timewerks), and the device will reboot.
After the device has restarted, launch Timewerks. You should see your old data.

Thanks for the replies, but I have tried to restore from a backup.  Unfortunately, the latest backup is the new one the iPhone created after the dubious error message which triggered all the apps to be reinstalled.

If anyone else can offer other suggestions, then they would be appreciated.
