I just read a post from February where you said to check back in a few weeks for news of a web-based version of Timewerks, which would be really handy.  I wonder if you have any better sense now of when this might come online.

Thanks.

Hi Spellinger,

Thanks for the email. Yes, we are working on a web-based companion to Timewerks. Unfortunately, the schedule for this has been pushed back (i.e. it's now July) due to other work conflicts (i.e. we've spent a lot more time on 3rd party consulting gigs than we had planned for and, accordingly, Timewerks Web has been delayed). We are currently shooting for a August 2009 release.  Thanks much for your support and stay tuned to the website for more updates as we get closer to an actual shipping product.

Regards,
Stephen

I have been waiting for the web version too. I like this app and I used it a lot until I got an iPhone 3GS and gave my wife the old 3G iPhone with the timewerks app and database on it. The problem was that timewerks along with few other apps did not restore from backup on my new 3GS iPhone. Other paid apps (such as HanDbase) restore without problem with their databases. So I don't see a way to transfer my timewerks projects from my wife's iPhone to mine until the web based app is available. Is there any other way? I can buy the app again - it's just I need my old database.

Lulo,

Thanks for the post. iTunes is supposed to handle the backup of 3rd party app data. However, as many have noted, this doesn't always happen the way it's supposed to. The good news: we're adding a built-in backup/restore function to the next version of timewerks (1.7, due in about a month). The bad news: this doesn't help you in your current situation. We have found that the following works, but it assumes you have a recent backup of your previous device:

To copy Timewerks data from your old phone to a new phone, you must first make sure your current phone is backed up in iTunes.
Basically:
1) Connect your existing phone to iTunes
2) Right click and select backup.
3) When you connect your new phone, it will ask if you want to set it up from a backup of an existing device.
4) Choose yes and select the backup you made in step 2.

Here's more info on iTunes backups direct from Apple:
